FAMILY FILM DAY
Dear Friend,
We are thrilled to announce that we are transforming Breakfast with God into a video series for families, parishes, and schools. Through a generous grant, we will professionally produce 12 episodes featuring the original co-hosts, Miss Anne Krane and Fr. Quang Tran, S.J. We are so excited to revitalize this beloved program, and we would love to include your family if you live in the Boston area.
Here's everything you need to know to feel comfortable and prepared:
What to Expect on Filming Day
- A small crew of 3–4 people will arrive at your home, along with Ms. Krane, who will help guide the prayers and teach the songs.
- We’ll bring one camera, a few microphones, and plenty of good energy!
- We’ll film wherever your family usually eats breakfast—kitchen, dining room, living room, countertop, or even the floor! There’s no "right" setup.
- The filming will take approximately 60–90 minutes, and we’ll do our best to work with your schedule.
What to Wear
- Wear whatever feels natural and comfortable for your family. Pajamas are absolutely welcome! There’s no need to dress up or change your routine for us—we want to capture real family life.
What We'll Be Filming
We’ll guide you through each part, and everything will be taught on-site—no prep needed beforehand. Here’s a quick overview of the activities:
1. Gospel Acclamation – A simple and fun song with motions that Ms. Krane will teach your children.
2. Prayers of the Faithful – Children (and adults, if they’d like!) will each say something like, “I’d like to pray for…” followed by a movement to symbolically send their prayers out into the world.
3. The Sign of Peace – A warm moment of connection and kindness.
4. The Our Father & Closing Prayer – A call-and-response prayer to wrap up the reflection.
5. Closing Song: "I’ve Got That Joy" – A joyful, movement-filled song to end our time together.
Adults are welcome to participate as much as they’d like—we love when the whole family joins in!
No Need to Stress
- Please don’t feel like you need to deep clean your house—we’re here to celebrate real, everyday family life, not perfection. Our goal is to make this a fun and easy experience. We’ll guide you every step of the way!
Please fill out this brief interest form to coordinate a day and time that works with your schedule. If you have any friends or neighbors who might also like to be part of this special project, please pass this message along—all are welcome!
Thank you again for opening your hearts to this project. If you have any questions, just reach out to Megan Stevens at stevenax@bc.edu—happy to help.
